EXTREME Tea Party at Oakwood!

Charity Community Fundraisers’ joined staff at Oakwood Theme Park for a tea party with a difference – on board a rollercoaster ride.
The Marie Curie Fundraisers visited the Pembrokeshire park to help promote their ‘Blooming Great Tea Party’ campaign.
The fundraiser encourages people to hold their own tea parties at home, at work or even at school.
Marie Curie Cancer Care Community Fundraiser, Katy Tainton, said: “We wanted to how that you can hold a tea party pretty much anywhere so what better way to illustrate it than on top of a rollercoaster!
“It was quite an interesting experience for everyone involved and the guys at Oakwood were really helpful – hopefully it will help us to get the message across to as wide an audience as possible,” she added.
Marie Curie Cancer Care is a UK charity dedicated to the care of people with terminal cancer and other illnesses. The charity is best known for their network of 2,000 Marie Curie Nurses, who work in the homes of terminally ill patients across the UK, providing practical care and support.
In 2012 they provided 1.2 million hours of nursing to 23,406 patients, along with support for their families.
The charity also runs nine Marie Curie Hospices across the UK and is closely involved in research and campaigning for patients’ rights.
An Oakwood Theme Park spokesperson said: “It was quite an unusual request but we were only too pleased to support such a fantastic charity and our staff definitely got into the spirit of things.
“Some of them even remembered to hold their little fingers out while drinking from their teacups – even if they were hurtling around Megafobia – our legendary wooden rollercoaster!” he added.
