THEME PARK OFFERS TICKETS TO CARMARTHEN CHARITY
Oakwood Theme Park is supporting the work of a local domestic abuse charity by offering children and young people the opportunity to enjoy a day out at the park. The Narberth attraction has joined forces with Carmarthen Domestic Abuse Service (CDAS), to provide tickets to youngsters affected by abuse.
CDAS is a local charity that supports women, men, children and young people who are experiencing or have previously experienced domestic abuse. Their services include a refuge, crisis drop in, floating support, counselling, child worker and a money coach.
Sian Davey, Child & Young Person Support Worker at CDAS, said: “Many service users we support may struggle financially due to the result of domestic abuse and days out at attractions like Oakwood would simply not be affordable.
“A visit to Oakwood Theme Park will also give the families an opportunity to have a day out where they can bond, enjoy and try to forget the trials of everyday life living with domestic abuse,” she added.
Phil Verbinnen, Park Director at Oakwood Theme Park said he was proud to be supporting CDAS, and giving the users of CDAS this opportunity for some much needed time away from their problems.
“CDAS provide an invaluable service to their users, and the many others who suffer the effects of domestic abuse,” he said.
“We look forward to welcoming them to the park, and providing a little additional support for this very worthwhile cause.”
