THEME PARK HAILS HIGH FLYING WALES CAPTAIN
Staff at Oakwood Theme Park are confident Wales’ rollercoaster ride at Euro 2016 is nowhere near finished. Football-mad workers at the Pembrokeshire visitor attraction believe the high-flying Dragons could go all the way and will be cheering Captain Ashley Williams and the rest of the team to victory against Belgium on Friday night.
Before leaving for France, Ashley brought his family to spend a day out at the theme park.
Whilst there the Welsh skipper enjoyed a ride on wooden rollercoaster Megafobia – which celebrates its 20th birthday this year – as well as exploring the Peter Pan-themed Neverland attractions with his young family.
Oakwood Theme Park’s Natalie Hunt said: “We were thrilled to welcome Ashley and his family for a day out.
“They seemed to have a great time and it definitely proved to be a highlight for many of the other visitors, as well as our staff, who got the chance to meet the great man in the flesh.
“He was extremely complimentary about the park and said he was particularly impressed with all the rides for younger children in Neverland.
“He clearly also had a blast when he rode on Megafobia with our Park Director Phil !” she added.
Oakwood has played host to a number of sporting superstars over the years including Ashley’s Wales team-mate Gareth Bale and the entire Wales rugby team.
