World Class High-Diving Show Returns to Wales
World-class high divers will once again be performing a series of amazing stunts as part of a pirate-themed ‘aerial theatre’ show at Oakwood Theme Park later this month (Saturday, July 20th).
The Pirate High Diving Show features a team of hugely experienced athletes from across Europe who will be diving from heights of up to 25 metres into an eight-metre wide pool of water which is just two metres deep.
Described as ‘aerial theatre’, the show is a mixture of comedy, music, acrobatics and high diving.
“The response to last year’s diving displays was so positive that we have invited them back again. When the divers are at the top of the 25-metre diving board the pool of water looks so tiny they can cover it with their feet!” said Oakwood Theme Park’s Dominic Jones.
“The five-person dive team who will be taking part in the show are based in France and made up of international athletes who have competed at the highest levels around the world,” he added.
The show is part of a summer of special events and activities taking place at the Pembrokeshire park to celebrate the launch of its new Neverland attraction.
The park will also be opening until 10pm on selected dates in July and August as part of its ‘After Dark’ event and there will be spectacular fireworks displays, lasers and music shows.
“The ‘After Dark’ late night openings are always hugely popular and this year we’re aiming to provide the best shows ever for visitors to enjoy.
“The combination of music and fireworks will provide a stunning finale to the evening’s entertainment for visitors,” said Dominic.
Set in 88 acres of spectacular Pembrokeshire countryside, Oakwood is one of the UK’s leading theme parks.
